Alfie Boe

At the age of 37 Alfie Boe is Britain’s favourite singer. In 2006 he released his debut album, Classic FM Presents Alfie Boe. It was followed in 2007 by two more albums and a UK tour with the Fron Male Voice Choir, where he was nominated for a Classical Brit, only to lose out to Sir Paul McCartney. Two more such nominations followed in 2008, and in 2009 Alfie released his fourth album, dedicated to his late father’s favourite composer, Franz Lehar: Love Was A Dream. He’s made festival appearances all over the world, starred in a WNO revival of La Traviata and reprised his role as Rodolfo in Sir Jonathan Miller’s ENO production of La Boheme. Highlights of 2010 include two operas for ENO – The Pearl Fishers and Katya Kabanova, and Romeo et Juliette at Covent Garden. In October, at the request of Sir Cameron Mackintosh, he took on the lead role of Jean Valjean in the sold-out 25th anniversary concert performances of Les Miserables at the O2 Arena in London. Immediately afterwards, signing to Decca / Universal Records and in December saw the release of his “Bring Him Home” album, certified “Gold”, now having sold in excess of 200,000 copies. Alfie was also recently honoured with the prestigious Silver Clef award for Classical Music.
Bruce Dickson

Bruce Dickinson is best known as the lead vocalist of heavy metal band Iron Maiden. Bruce began his career in music fronting small pub bands at school and University. He then joined the band Samson in 1979, where he gained some popularity under the stage name, “Bruce Bruce.” He left Samson in 1981 to join Iron Maiden as their new vocalist, replacing Paul Di/Anno, and debuting on their 1982 album The Number of The Beast. During his first tenure in the band, they issued a series of high impact releases, resulting in Bruce gaining worldwide fame, and becoming one of the most acclaimed heavy metal vocalists of all time.
Ian Paice

Ian got his first drum kit aged 15 and started gigging with his father for pocket money. His first rock and roll group, Georgie And The Rave Ons, played local gigs around Oxford until changing their name to The Shindigs in 1965. After quitting the Shindigs and joining M I 5 things were looking up. In 1966 the band cut their first single before changing their name to The Maze, cutting three singles and an EP between late 1966 and early 1967. Ian became disillusioned by The Maze’s lack of real success, however, and auditioned for Deep Purple in early 1968, where he played in Mk 1, 2, 3, 4 and worked with Jon Lord in Paice, Ashton, Lord and later in 1979 in Whitesnake. Ian quit Whitesnake in late 1981 and joined Gary Moore in 1982, touring and recording two studio and two live albums, before Deep Purple reformed in 1984.
Jon Lord

Jon Douglas Lord has enjoyed a prestigious and multi-faceted career to date, starting out in “swinging London” in the 1960s, playing pub gigs in jazz and rhythm and blues “combos with the Bill Ashton Combo, through to a keyboard spot with the seminal Artwoods, led by Art Wood, brother of future Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood. Worldwide acclaim with Deep Purple followed between 1968 and 1976, when Purple was one of the world’s most popular and creative bands, with Jon occupying a pivotal role both in the studio and onstage, through every permutation of the band’s line up. In between albums and tours, Jon found time for quite a bit of classically themed solo work, with albums such as The Gemini Suite and First of the Big Bands. When Purple split in 1976, he delivered his finest solo work to date in the shape of the Sarabande album. Between 1984 and the present, Purple’s career has been a roller coaster ride of six studio albums, literally thousands of live concerts all over the world, five different line ups and album sales in excess of 150 million units. Jon found time to write and record the highly personal ‘Pictured Within’ album and eventually retired from Deep Purple in 2002 to concentrate on his solo work, playing with Deep Purple for the last time in Ipswich, England, on 19th September 2002. That was a highly emotional night, one that signified a new chapter in the careers of both Deep Purple and Jon Lord.

Together with his former Whitesnake colleague Bernie Marsden Micky founded the Moody Marsden Band, and later, The Snakes. From 2010 he has been working with Murray, guitarist Laurie Wisefield, drummer Harry James, singer Chris Ousey and keyboard player Michael Bramwell in Monsters of British Rock, which has morphed into Snakecharmer with Adam Wakeman on keyboards.
